Description

Position Overview

The School of Public Affairs & Administration (SPAA) at the University of Kansas (KU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor position starting in August 2022 in public budgeting and finance.

Founded in 1865, KU is the state’s flagship university and is one of only 34 public members of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU).  The university enrolls more than 28,000 students with many top ranked graduate programs.  SPAA has an outstanding research and teaching faculty and nationally recruited students, ranking 25th in graduate public affairs schools in the nation. It also holds rankings in several specialty areas, including Local Government Management (#1), Public Management and Leadership (#11), and Public Finance and Budgeting (#19).  The School offers undergraduate programs at the Kansas City metro campus and three graduate programs at the Lawrence campus including a highly ranked MPA program, a strong MUP program, and a small, distinguished doctoral program. The School is also home to the KU Public Management Center, which offers excellent professional education programs throughout the region.

In an effort to enrich its academic environment and provide equal education and employment opportunities, the university actively encourages applications from candidates who identify with groups that are historically underrepresented in academia.  The successful candidate for the position must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start date of the appointment.Job Description
