The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated, creative team-orientated individual with for full-time, calendar year, appointment stream faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The successful applicant will have their primary efforts focused on providing comprehensive pharmacy services and patient care for patients on the Internal Medicine service at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Experience with medication protocol development, direct patient care including participation in consult and hospital initiatives, and patient focused research is expected. The incumbent is also expected to support the professional curriculum, including large and small classroom teaching with active learning techniques such as simulation learning and other techniques. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for students, residents, and other trainees. The ideal candidate will have a PharmD and a minimum of three years of experience in general medicine, internal medicine, pharmacotherapy or geriatrics; and residency and/or fellowship training. Board certification is highly desired. Other qualifications and experiences will be considered. Applicants must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics is integrated with UPMC and together support the leadership and management of pharmacy services as well as clinical programs including Antibiotic Management Program, Ambulatory Care Programs, Medicine, Pharmacogenomics, Palliative Care, Oncology, Transplantation, Critical Care, and Cardiology. The Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics is home to the Grace Lamsam Pharmacy Program for the Underserved.  In partnership with UPMC, the department is home to twelve accredited residency programs, plus twelve pharmacy fellowship training programs.
