Description

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full-time, twelve month, tenure-track faculty position to join a student-centered, collegial department.  Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.  UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses. The School of Pharmacy is dedicated to developing exemplary pharmacy professionals and scholars who are committed to patient-centered care, lifelong learning, discovery, and service for diverse communities of the Delmarva Peninsula, the State of Maryland, and around the world. Faculty are dedicated and promote a positive work environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach and facilitate student learning for Doctor of Pharmacy students in Pharmacy Administration, Management, and Statistics; 
  • Cooperate and coordinate with others in team-taught courses; 
  • Develop independent and collaborative research; 
  • Serve on School and University committees, and participate in regional and/or national professional organizations.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in pharmacy administration, social/behavioral research, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, or health management/administrative sciences.  
  • Strong evidence for either potential or accomplishments in the areas of practice management, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology, statistical and methodological skills, and outcomes research. 
  • Demonstration of a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, and research collaboration. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pharmacy or another health specialty. 
  • Current Maryland pharmacy license or eligibility for Maryland license 
  • Teaching experience preferred and, if applicable, working with APPE students 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
